Cancelling my NIF — great support when it got complicated
What started as a straightforward NIF cancellation hit an unexpected wall when the Portuguese tax authority (AT) rejected my documents for not being authenticated copies, something I'd never had to deal with before (neither would most people by the looks of it). Bordr's support team, especially Mona and Gela, were brilliant. They explained the issue clearly, kept me in the loop, and even arranged a certified copy of my passport through their lawyers as a one-time exception, free of charge. That genuinely saved me a trip to a notary and removed a chunk of friction from the process. The process itself can be slow due to how AT operates, but that's out of Bordr's hands. Their service and responsiveness? Spot on. I highly recommend!

i was so stressed about getting my nif and opening a bank account before moving to portugal, but bordr made it incredibly easy. everything was handled remotely and the instructions were super clear. i felt like i had a real partner in the process, which was a huge relief.

their tax filing service was a complete headache. i provided all the documents way in advance, but it still felt rushed and unorganized. i ended up having to redo some things myself because i didn't trust that it was handled correctly. definitely not the 'streamlined' experience i was hoping for.

honestly, i was pretty disappointed. i paid for the nif service and it seriously dragged on, way longer than they said it would. communication wasn't great either; felt like i had to chase them constantly for updates. kinda put a damper on my whole relocation plan.

misleading cost for bank
i ended up paying more than i expected for the bank account setup. the initial pricing seemed fair, but then there were other fees that popped up. it wasn't a huge amount, but it just felt a bit bait-and-switch. transparency could really be improved.
